Boarding ( In Our Home)
Terms and Conditions 

1. All animals being boarded at Whittaker’s Pet Hotel must be up-to-date with all vaccinations (where applicable). We may reject rabbits if they do not come with a signed up-to-date vaccination card on arrival date.

 

2. Whittaker’s Pet Hotel reserves the right to refuse to accept your pet if we feel they are showing signs of disease, injury, illness or pregnancy, unless previously discussed.

 

3. Upon arrival, a brief health check will be taken on your animal. Any pet seen to have skin problems, parasites or any other contagious ailment / condition that could put other animals at risk, will be unable to stay.

 

4. Any existing medical conditions must be discussed prior to the stay of your pet, each case will be taken into account separately.

 

5. If your pet does have any medical problems, illnesses or injuries, please provide the details of their condition and any treatment required when filling out the Pet Record Form / prior discussion. We will not accept any pet which is showing signs of an undisclosed illness, disease or injury.

 

6. Although Whitaker's Pet Hotel have experience in animal care and administering medicine, we are not qualified veterinarians. We will continue any medicine routines carried out at home to the best of our capabilities but we are not liable if any issues arise. If we are unable to administer the medicine/care as requested due to a difficult animal/ procedure then you will be notified and either asked to collect your pet or we will take them to a local vet to carry out the requested task, this will be charged to you.

 

7. If your pet does become ill whilst at Whittaker’s Pet Hotel we will inform you / your emergency contact immediately. If we are unable to contact you and your pet needs veterinary care, we will transport your animal to our local vets. Any treatment required will be charged to you, the owner. Your pet will be treated under your name and address. By signing these Terms and Conditions, you agree to any veterinarian costs accrued by your pet. We accept no liability in the unlikely event that your pet becomes ill during their stay.

 

8. We will take no responsibility of any pets’ pregnancies as all the animals are housed in separate living accommodation and playtime is always in separate allocated areas unless otherwise stated by you.

 

9. Sadly, small animals can pass away with very little warning and very quickly after showing signs of an illness. If this does happen, we will contact you immediately to discuss your wishes should your pet pass away in our care. We accept no liability in the unlikely event this may happen.

 

10. A contract will be deemed as active once a booking has been confirmed by Whittaker’s Pet Hotel. The deposit which confirms this arrangement is non-refundable after 7 days of arranging the booking. If you fail to arrive on the due date, cancel or shorten your booking, you will be liable for any dates booked which your pet has not attended and may still be liable for the full boarding costs to compensate for lost revenue. 

 

11. If for any reason, Whittaker’s Pet Hotel must cancel your booking, at least 48 hours’ notice will be given to you. If a deposit has been received from you, this will be returned the same day.

 

12. All payments must be paid in full on the day of arrival. The daily rate includes the day your pet is brought to us and the day he/she leaves, regardless of the time of day. We accept cash only, a receipt will be provided. If payment is not provided on arrival and the animal is still kept at the discretion of Whittaker’s Pet Hotel, then payment to cover boarding costs can be requested by Whittaker's Pet Hotel at any point during or after their stay.

 

13. Times of arrival and collection must be provided when booking. If you are unable to make the times stated or are running late, please ring to advise and a new time can be arranged. This ensures that you can be given the time you and your pet require during your visit and avoids parking congestion. We ask that you please try to keep to the delivery / collection times that have been arranged.

 

14. If your pet is already boarding with us and you wish to collect your pet earlier than the date originally provided, you are still liable for the full boarding costs.

 

15. If you have bonded pets staying with us and we need to separate them due to fighting or any other reason, you will be required to pay the extra fees, as though the animals were boarded with us separately, upon your return.

 

16. If you do not collect your pet(s) on the agreed date, you will be charged for any extra days at the daily rate. 

 

17. If your pet is not collected on the due date and we are unable to contact you or your emergency contact, we reserve the right to re-home the animal after 7 days and carry out whatever action is deemed necessary to recover any costs. If a payment has been requested and has not been paid within the allotted time then this will count as abandonment. We reserve the right to recoup costs and begin the rehoming process if necessary.

 

18. Whittaker’s Pet Hotel are not liable for any damages to housing or accessories whilst staying at or being transported to and from Whittaker’s Pet Hotel.


19. Unlike cat and dog kennels, small animal boarding does not require a licence or have the same rules and regulations. All animals are therefore left at their owner’s risk.

Pet/Cat Sitting (In Your Home)

Terms and Conditions

By enquiring and making a booking with us, you are confirming your acceptance to below Terms and Conditions.  Please note these may be subject to change.

1. We don't accept animals in their own home unless they are vaccinated against diseases that are transferable through the environment and record of vaccination is shown.

 

2. An initial meet and greet in-home consultation will be organised at your premises, discussions about the requirements of your animal(s) and any concerns you or Whittaker’s Pet Hotel may have will be discussed.

 

2. We reserve the right to refuse to look after your pet(s) if we feel they are showing signs of disease, injury, illness, pregnancy or aggression unless previously discussed at our initial meet and greet.

 

3. During the initial meet and greet a brief health check will be taken on your animal(s). Any pet seen to have skin problems, parasites or any other contagious ailment/condition that could put other animals at risk, we will be unable to visit.

 

4. Any existing medical conditions must be discussed prior to our arrival or during the meet and greet, each case will be taken into account separately. If your pet does have any medical problems, illnesses or injuries, please provide the details of their condition and any treatment required when filling out the Pet Record Form. We will not look after any pet which is showing signs of an undisclosed illness, disease or injury.

 

6. If your pet does become ill whilst under the care of Whittaker’s Pet Hotel we will inform you/your emergency contact immediately. If we are unable to contact you and your pet needs veterinary care, we will transport your animal to our local vets or a vet the animal is registered with. Any treatment required will be charged to you, the owner. Your pet will be treated under your name and address. By signing these Terms and Conditions, you agree to any veterinarian costs accrued by your pet. We accept no liability in the unlikely event that your pet becomes ill whilst in our care.

 

7. We take no responsibility if your pet(s) fall pregnant as we keep all animals in the living  accommodation you have provided (e.g. your home).

9. A contract will be deemed as active once a booking has been confirmed by Whittaker’s Pet Hotel and payment received. If you wish to cancel or amend the dates to your contract with Whittaker’s Pet Hotel within 1 week of the first payment, a full refund will be issued. If you wish to cancel after the first week or if your booking falls within the cancellation period then you may still be liable for payment of 50% of the booking fee or £50, whichever is less.

 

10. If your pet is already under our care and you wish to cancel our services earlier than the end-date originally provided, you are still liable for the full pet sitting costs and no refunds shall be issued.

 

11. All payments must be paid in full prior to the first paid visit. We accept cash only.

 

12. In the event that you delayed on return, you must inform Whittaker’s Pet Hotel immediately, and we will use our best endeavours to make alternative arrangements for continued cover, this may incur a further charge.

 

13. If for any reason, Whittaker’s Pet Hotel must cancel your booking, at least 48 hours notice will be given to you. If a deposit has been received from you, this will be returned the same day.

 

14. If we need to separate your pets due to fighting, illness or any other reason, you will be notified and required to pay additional fees to ensure they are separated securely and safely.

 

15. A sitter may wish to have either another sitter or companion accompany them on an assignment at no additional costs to you.  This may happen if personal safety is thought to be an issue or to increase one-on-one time for larger groups of animals.

 

16. If your key is not collected on the return date and we are unable to contact you or your emergency contact and you do not contact Whittaker’s Pet Hotel, we reserve the right to place the animal into a shelter, potentially for re-adoption, after 7 days and carry out whatever legal action is deemed necessary to recover any costs.

 

17. Whittaker’s Pet Hotel are not liable for any damages to your property caused by your pet or by Whittaker’s Pet Hotel in the performance of the services discussed and provided (e.g. carpet/flooring stains). We will not be held liable for any break-ins or vandalism on your property during your use of our services. Should anything occur such as this, we will inform your emergency contact and report the incident to the Police immediately.

 

18. Unlike cat and dog kennels, animal sitting does not require a licence or have the same rules and regulations. All animals are therefore left at their owner’s risk.

 

19. Whittaker’s Pet Hotel will not accept to look after overly aggressive animals that may be a danger to the sitter or other animals they are kept with.

 

20. In the event that additional items need to be purchased in the absence of the client – i.e. pet food, litter, cleaning supplies or other necessary items that contribute to the health and wellbeing of your pet, Whittaker’s Pet Hotel will purchase these, retain a receipt and the pet owner is responsible for reimbursement of these items on their return.

 

21. Whittaker’s Pet Hotel will obtain a copy of your house key during the meet and greet. This key will be held by the pet sitter/dog walker and will be unmarked and kept securely.

 

22. Whittaker’s Pet Hotel does not accept liability for other persons who may be in your home prior to, during or immediately after our services have been rendered.

 

23. Whittaker’s Pet Hotel will follow instructions to administer medications as directed but cannot be held responsible for complications that arise as a result.

 

24. Whittaker’s Pet Hotel will properly dispose of your pet(s) waste. For cat litter trays we do request that you provide all necessary items such as scooper, cat litter and plastic bags and indicate where you would like these waste bags disposed of.  The same for any other home based animal. For dog walking we will properly dispose of pet waste and we will provide waste bags for this, we may, however we need to sometimes bring the waste back to dispose of in your outside waste bin or agreed upon waste location.

 

25. Whittaker’s Pet Hotel does not accept any responsibility or liability for any clients animals that escape or become lost or injured, fatal or otherwise, when instructed to leave the clients animals(s) in a fenced area, this extends to cats given free-roam outside during the day/night. We recommend that cats are kept indoors whilst in our care so we can ensure their health and safety.  However should you wish for your cat to have free access to a cat flap we cannot be held liable for any disappearance, injuries or death as a result.

 

26. We will not open or close any windows during our visit so please ensure all windows are locked and secure before you leave.

 

27. We request that you provide the items your pet requires (e.g sufficient food) and any items necessary for cleaning such as: plastic bags, towels, cleaning products, paper towels and bin bags.

 

28. If there are accidents that require cleaning above and beyond the normal amount anticipated, we will charge a reasonable fee for clean up time that extends over the visit slot agreed upon.

 

29. Please leave your thermostat settings within a normal comfortable range. If the house temperature is outside of this range, a Whittaker’s Pet Hotel sitter will adjust the thermostat to ensure the health and comfort of your pet(s). Your emergency contact will be notified, we are not liable for increased cost of household bills during your pets care.
